Lower payment friction
An additional route for verified overseas landlords, property businesses and commercial clients.
A modern payment route for verified commercial clients—supported by identity checks, transaction screening, GBP invoicing and sterling settlement.
Stablecoins are digital assets designed to maintain a value linked to an established currency. Used through properly controlled payment infrastructure, they can provide an additional way for businesses to transfer value across borders and outside conventional banking hours.
Based on our review of published payment options across the sector, we believe this represents a first for UK enforcement. UK Bailiffs also believes responsible innovation should be tested in a controlled and transparent way. We are therefore introducing a limited stablecoin payment route for our own commercial invoices—not as an investment product, and not as a substitute for the safeguards that apply to enforcement work.

Digital-asset networks can operate outside normal banking hours, subject to screening and confirmation.
Practical experience of emerging payment technology without exposing client funds to cryptoasset volatility.
The commercial client, instruction and proposed payer are checked before the option is enabled.
The service, VAT and total amount remain stated in pounds sterling.
An approved provider checks the transaction and wallet against financial-crime controls.
The payment is converted for GBP settlement and matched to the invoice and case record.
The payment option sits within UK Bailiffs’ existing client-identification, instruction-review and accounting controls, with additional measures appropriate to digital assets.
Payments are accepted only against an identifiable commercial client, approved instruction and numbered UKB invoice.
Approved payment infrastructure is used to identify sanctions exposure, stolen funds and other high-risk indicators.
A payment from somebody other than the invoiced client is not accepted automatically and may require further evidence.
UKB does not exchange digital assets for customers, provide wallets or transfer funds between third parties.
UKB may request source-of-funds evidence, refuse a payment or make any report required by law.
The invoice, payer, transaction reference, valuation, fees and GBP settlement are retained with the accounting record.
UKB does not change its invoice value because a client chooses an approved digital payment method. VAT, revenue recognition and the case record remain based on the sterling transaction value.
The payment provider’s record allows the gross invoice, processing cost and net GBP settlement to be reconciled. Immediate conversion is intended to prevent UKB building a speculative cryptoasset position.
No. The facility is an alternative payment route. UKB invoices in pounds and uses payment infrastructure intended to convert approved digital payments for sterling settlement.

Not through this facility. A payment must be connected to an identified client, accepted instruction and numbered invoice. The transaction is also subject to the provider’s wallet, sanctions and financial-crime screening.
No. Stablecoins are designed to track a reference asset, but they are not the same as money held in a UK bank account and can carry issuer, market, technology and regulatory risks. UKB does not recommend that a client acquire or hold any cryptoasset.
Only selected stablecoins and networks supported by UKB’s approved payment arrangements. Availability is confirmed individually before a payment request is issued.
