Mike Newman’s Speed of Sight.
Freedom behind the wheel.

Mike Newman has set eight world speed records on land, water and in the air — in cars, trucks, motorbikes, planes and boats.

Remarkable in its own right. But there is one defining difference: Mike was born blind.

Through Speed of Sight, Mike and his team give blind, visually impaired and disabled people the chance to experience driving in specially adapted cars at safe race-track environments across the UK.

Born blind. Multiple world record holder. Founder of Speed of Sight. His story is proof that disability does not have to define ambition.

The man behind the movement

Mike Newman’s story is not background.
It is the heart of the charity.

Mike Newman was born blind, yet went on to become a multiple world record holder. His story gives Speed of Sight something many charities struggle to communicate: a powerful, living example of possibility.

Speed of Sight takes that message and turns it into an experience for others. Through adapted vehicles, trained support and safe circuits, the charity gives disabled participants the chance to feel speed, control, trust and independence.

It is not simply a driving day. It is a moment where someone gets to do something they may have believed was closed off to them.

Why this matters to us

We saw it with our own eyes.
That is what makes the story powerful.

When our team spent the day with Speed of Sight, we didn’t just see adapted cars and track days. We saw people who had been told “you can’t” suddenly realise they still can.

We saw families crying with joy. We saw confidence return in real time. We saw the exact moment someone felt free again.

That is why we are proud to support them — and why we want to help more businesses discover this extraordinary charity.

Driver experiences are not the testimonial. They are the product.
Do not sponsor an event.
Sponsor the moment someone realises their life is still bigger than their disability.

What Speed of Sight delivers

More than driving.
Confidence, dignity and possibility.

The car is the mechanism. The track is the setting. The real impact is the person behind the wheel and the family watching from the side.

01

Adapted driving experiences

Participants drive specially adapted vehicles in controlled environments, supported by people who understand how to make the experience safe, positive and memorable.

02

Confidence that lasts

The moment does not end when the engine stops. For many people, it is proof that independence, enjoyment and ambition are still available.

03

Family memories

Families get to see someone they care about experience freedom, control and joy in a way they may never have expected.

One experience. A much bigger effect.

Every drive creates impact far beyond the track.

1 person given the chance to drive — often for the first time in years
1 family watching someone they love come alive with joy and confidence
1 story that challenges assumptions about what disabled people can achieve
1 memory created through direct, practical, life-affirming support
Why UK Bailiffs supports Speed of Sight

We are not here to be promoted.
We are here to help promote the story.

Speed of Sight does not need overcomplicated messaging. The strength is already there: a powerful founder story, adapted driving experiences, emotional family moments and a clear human impact.

UK Bailiffs works with councils, solicitors, commercial landlords, managing agents, property professionals and businesses across the UK. We also support junior motorsport through Team Harry Holland, so we understand how powerful the link between business, community and motorsport can be.

For us, the opportunity is simple. Businesses like ours can use their platforms, contacts and networks to help more people discover what Speed of Sight already does so well.

How businesses can help

Support does not always have to mean writing a cheque.

Businesses can help Speed of Sight by making the story more visible, introducing the charity to the right people, and explaining the impact in a way that sponsors, partners and supporters immediately understand.

  • Share the charity with clients, suppliers and business networks
  • Introduce Speed of Sight to potential sponsors and partners
  • Use websites, newsletters and social media to raise visibility
  • Help turn powerful participant experiences into stronger public stories
Why the story deserves more visibility

Speed of Sight has already achieved so much.
More businesses should be part of it.

Speed of Sight has built something special: a powerful founder story, visible human impact, and a practical way for businesses to make a real difference.

A

A strong founder story

Mike Newman’s extraordinary journey immediately shows why the charity exists and why its work is credible and authentic.

B

A clear human impact

The transformation is visible in participants, in family reactions, and in the lasting memories created.

C

A reason to get involved

Businesses can support something practical, positive, and easy to understand — with visible, emotional results.

Our view

The moments that stay with us

“My dad died 2 years ago with dementia. I wish I had known about this then — to create an amazing memory for him and for us.”

Craig Whinray Director, UK Bailiffs

“Seeing the reaction from participants and families really stays with you. It’s the kind of story that makes you want to help more people discover what Speed of Sight does.”

Shani UK Bailiffs

“The most powerful part is seeing the reaction from participants and families. That should be at the centre of the message every time.”
