Roller Shutter Course

UK Bailiffs carry out hundreds of lease forfeitures every year on commercial premises.

This involves bailiffs attending businesses alongside locksmiths to gain entry and to secure the premises when the tenant is not in.

More often than not, this will involve some form of roller shutter.  If the locksmith can not deal with all types of shutter eventualities, then we can not use them.

With the decline of the high street and many people now working from home, lease forfeitures will become one of the biggest emerging markets in our industry

• In 2022 over 17,000 sites shut up shop or were subject to lease forfeiture which was 50% up on 2021. .

• 65% of all businesses are protected by some form of shutter.

AIM OF COURSE

• To give a thorough understanding of how to gain access through any form of roller shutter with minimal / no damage.

COURSE CONTENT

• Mechanical shutter locks - Bullet Locks, Central Locks, Padlock
• Manual wind systems – identifying systems, methods of overriding.
• Electric systems – key switches, adjustable cam, overriding electrics, wire sequence of motor, using external power sources. 
• Electrical safety 
• Working at Heights
• Remote access – Reprogramming fobs, wiping memory, rolling codes
• Receiver box installation and isolation.
• Code grabbing - using code grabbing equipment, blocking codes
• Side railing, Removal of slats
• Securing property
• You will be given the opportunity to practice on the day with the locks, motors, tools and actual shutters in the classroom.

COURSE LENGTH

• The course is aimed to be around 6 hours with time available at the end to ask questions or practice with the equipment.

COURSE PRICE

• The course is £250.00 plus VAT
• Optional tool kit (RRP £220.00 plus VAT) can be purchased along with the course for £120.00 plus VAT
• Tool kit can be purchased on the day

• Recent DBS check (Request a basic DBS check - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
• Basic locksmith experience
