Certificated Bailiff Register
The Certificated Enforcement Agent (Bailiff) Register holds details of all enforcement agents (formerly called bailiffs) who hold a certificate granted by a county court judge. This certificate allows them to take control of goods and, if needed, sell those goods to recover a debt.
It also includes individuals who have applied to hold or renew a certificate. You can search by name by clicking HERE.
Fitness to Hold a Certificate
Only "fit and proper" individuals should hold these certificates. If you are aware of serious misconduct, you can find the relevant court in the register and raise your concerns directly.
The register also lists hearing dates for those applying for new or renewed certificates. If concerns are submitted to the court before the hearing, the judge can consider them as part of the decision.
